We were awake early this morning due to the rain and lightening lighting up the cabin. Wow did it rain hard! There are 5 ships in Grand Cayman today…Crown Princess, Carnival Valor, Legend, Destiny and us. The people were overwhelming this small island town. Debbie and I had our usual breakfast in the cabin and then went to the internet cafĂ© to try once again to post the blog which we did but it took forever. The ships internet is horribly slow and we don’t get it in the cabin—very backward when we are used to having it when we want it on the last several Carnival cruises. Anyway, we got off the ship about 9:30 and walked around town for awhile and it started to pour rain. It was very crowded in town with all these ships so we headed back to the ship after about 2 hours of getting rained on and it was extremely hot and humid (it’s not the heat, it’s the stupidity). Margaritaville was packed and we could hear them down on the street having a good time as we did when we were there last time. We got back to the dock and Celbrity had someone standing there handing you cold (refrigerated) towels..nice touch but I still miss Funship Freddy especially seeing all of his ships here today. We have been sitting on the balcony watching the tenders go back and forth and reading this afternoon. We are going to the gym and spa in a few minutes to try to get some exercise in before we need to shower and get ready for dinner. I miss my Wii. Teresa and my friend Dave will be proud..we did the bikes for 3 miles (that’s a lot for me Dave) and did the elypticals? for another 15 minutes and I came back to the cabin and did my band stretchcing for a few minutes. We got showered and dressed for dinner and went to “Michael’s Club” which is the
Club for “Elite” guests only. You must have a card to get in and of course Debbie has one so I get one too because we are traveling together. It is only open for short periods of time usually before the dining times. Free cocktails and hors de oeuvre's served by staff…very nice. We went to dinner and the Germans have invaded again. We thought they found another couple to eat with but they were back and we all just smile and nod at each other. Then the Maitre’d is trying to solve a problem we told him about some squeaking noise that sounded as though someone was dragging their nails on a blackboard. He found the problem and then found us another table with some other ladies for tonight. After dinner we went to casino while waiting for the show. Debbie did well playing blackjack and I didn’t. Too bad we can’t both win on the same night.
Went to the show and this guy was a friend of Joey Bishop, Merv Griffin and Norm Crosby. My Uncle George is much funnier that this guy was and I can hear his jokes free on the phone! When the show was over. We got our tea and came back to the cabin. Tomorrow is a busy day since we have a wine tasting and don’t want to miss Milos Radakovich’s talk on the Panama Canal. Milos (he pronounces it Milosh) is very funny and Uncle George and Anna would like him! We haven’t taken many photos yet because it was either raining or rocking and so far we have been to these ports before. Catagena Columbia will be next on Thursday and we will be taking lots of pictures there. Until tomorrow…
Wow you girls are sure having lots of crappy weather. (It's raining here today too), but I'm not getting any complimentary cocktails and munchies. Good job in the gym too. I have a cold but now I feel compelled to go jog in the rain. Thanks a lot!!
