Well, this is the longest period of time that Debbie and I haven't gone anywhere since I met her! This cruise has been a long time coming it seems but we are now 5 days and a wake up away from a plane ride to Ft. Lauderdale and then a cab to the ship. Last time we sailed from Ft. Lauderdale was when we boarded the Carnival Splendor for our 31 day adventure around South America in January. We should have had an inkling of what was to come that day when we were directed by airport personnel first outside, then inside, then upstairs, then back downstairs all the time pushing a luggage cart piled higher than we were tall. Once we actually got a taxi and got to the port we were excited and it was a warm and beautiful day. Long story you can read by going back to the Splendor blog but due to a bomb threat or whatever it was, we were held hostage in a concrete terminal across the street for 7 hours. I'm going to think positive this time since there are only 3 ships in Ft. Lauderdale this Sunday. I'm having second thoughts about Debbie making me try Celebrity for 14 nights without Funship Freddy. I will just have to see how this goes--Celebrity doesn't have a mascot and neither does their parent company Royal Caribbean although they do have the Nation of Why Not? Oh and they also have a brand new cruise ship they just paid a billion (with a B) dollars for The Oasis of the Seas which I have heard will also be home based in Ft. Lauderdale--oh joy another 6,000 people trying to get into Port Everglades on cruise days not that it isn't horrible without them. The other girls in the group from the Splendor are cruising elsewhere, Kay is on the Carnival Liberty now with Nancy doing B2B caribbean (I still can't believe she dissed me and Dede but that is the power of Funship Freddy), Karen bought another house near her daughter in Long Beach so she said she is out of cruising for the time being while she counts her houses to find out how many she has and Deb Ward is on the Celebrity Equinox in Europe doing the Egypt/Israel cruise that we were all supposed to do together. See the pyramids along the Nile..... We will miss them.

Traveling for Debbie and I has never been dull. I hate it that we didn't think of doing this on earlier cruises because you forget a lot. So we will try to make it interesting and although Lady Kay is the queen of blog titles, I promise to try to think of some good ones too.
